The work is done backwards.

Its use requires a little training:

Insert the teeth into the soil by sliding your foot at the level of the transverse bar of the head
Then pull towards you by lowering the handles (the tooth implantation angle allows the clod of earth to be lifted by simply pulling the handles towards oneself using a lever arm effect).
Make a small alternating lifting movement on each side.
