The dibber is a small hand tool with a conical and pointed end. It will quickly make small, pointed planting holes, particularly useful when a large number of small plantings need to be done. Simply push it into the ground with the point facing down, pressing on the handle, and immediately remove it. Place the plant or seed at the bottom of the hole. Fill and tamp, either with the head of the tool or with your hands. Use the dibber to sow your larger seeds directly in the ground or in pots, such as sunflower, squash, or sweet pea seeds. It will also be useful for transplanting small seedlings from vegetable and annual seedlings. Opt for transplanters for small annuals and perennials in pots, whose larger root balls require wider holes. Specific dibbers for bulbs also exist. They are more suitable for digging flat-bottomed, deep holes. The Spear & Jackson dibber features a conical head made of polished stainless steel that does not rust and does not stick to the soil, making maintenance of the tool easier. The handle is made from durable wood, weather-resistant for greater durability. The tool is also equipped with a leather strap that allows it to be hung on a wall and worn on the wrist.
