Even their long stems have a mind of their own, sometimes growing bent or contorted in older varieties. Discover our selection of the most beautiful parrot tulips, from white to black, including the most colourful.

Parrot tulip white

  • White, a symbol of purity and softness, even delicacy, pairs beautifully with the fresh green touches on the petals of the Super Parrot Tulip. Its large, luminous flowers feature crinkled and sculpted petals from April to May, supported by flexible stems measuring 45 cm in height. The soft colour of its dress will highlight that of more colourful tulips.
  • The Madonna Parrot Tulip also boasts a stunning white dress, delicately flamed with green and a heart radiating creamy white, slightly yellow. Its sturdy, upright stems, 50 cm tall, proudly support its large flowers with puffed and fringed petals that bloom in May. Just as beautiful in pots, borders, or vases, it enhances the vibrant colours of orange and red tulips.
  • Luminous and a bit more exuberant than the previous ones, the Libretto Parrot Tulip stands out with its fringed and twisted petals, predominantly creamy white, splashed with green, soft yellow, light salmon pink, and lilac. Slightly smaller, it has sturdy stems, 40 cm tall. This touch of unmatched originality will make a statement in May, whether in a pastel flower bed or in bouquets.

Red parrot tulip

  • The first double cultivar of red parrot tulip, the Parrot Tulip ‘Rococo’ boasts beautiful flowers with swollen petals, in a red hue, timidly variegated with yellow and veined with green. Flowering occurs from April to May. Rather stout, this tulip reaches a height of 35 cm and can be grown in flowering pots or in borders.
  • The Parrot Tulip ‘Rasta Parrot’ offers an original myriad of colours that makes it somewhat difficult to classify. Indeed, it features large flowers with ruffled petals where the dominant red blends with yellow, orange, pink, green, and purple. A true festival of colour, standing at 40 cm tall, on short but sturdy stems. This astonishing flowering attracts all eyes in borders, pots, or cut flower arrangements!
  • Among the varieties of Parrot Tulip, the cultivar ‘Exotic Parrot’ stands out with its highly ruffled petals, featuring very tight waves. Its sturdy stems, at 45 cm tall, bear red flowers, flamed with green and white. Inside its corolla, it is also bright or dark red that predominates. A beautiful, original, and fantastic flower that deserves a prime spot in a border, a pot, or a vase.

These large flowers are carried by flexible stems, measuring 60 cm in height, but are sensitive to severe weather. Beautiful in spring flower beds, it also thrives in pots and bouquets.

Parrot tulip orange

  • The Avignon Parrot Tulip offers, in April-May, superb large satin flowers with deeply cut and frayed petals. They combine deep red and orange, with a hint of pink at the centre of the petals and a green flame on the outside. This still rare variety has many advantages: a sturdy stem, a height of 45 cm, late flowering, and a vibrant colour. Ideal for borders, pots, and colourful bouquets.
  • The Apricot ‘Parrot’ is a charming variety of parrot tulip, multiple times awarded for its ornamental qualities. In May, it produces an immense flower perched on a flexible stem of 50 to 60 cm. Sensitive to severe weather, it should be placed in a sheltered spot. Its fringed and twisted petals evolve in shades of apricot, flamed and mottled with orange, pink, green, and yellow. Each flower has its own hue, creating a sumptuous, changing, and fluctuating display in the garden, in pots, or in bouquets.
  • The ‘Comet’ variety is distinguished by its fragrance, a rare feature among parrot tulips. In May, its sturdy stems, measuring 50 cm high, showcase large frayed, puffed, and jagged flowers. Its petals display vibrant orange-red hues, sometimes edged or variegated with yellow. This flower is stunning in pots on the terrace, in a border, or as a bouquet in a vase.

Purple parrot tulip

The inside of the flower is darker and a deeper purple-violet. Its sturdy stem, measuring 50 cm, gives this beautiful tulip a proud appearance.
  • The Mysterious Parrot Tulip is both an extravagant and charming variety. It offers large flowers with strongly ruffled petals, in a beautiful violet, edged in white, flamed with grey-green and purple. Its heart also features a touch of bright cream-white. Its short, sturdy stems rarely exceed 45 cm in height. Its elegance and extravagance make it an exceptional flower for a border, a pot, or in a vase.
  • Almost entirely purple, the Negrita Parrot Tulip is not lacking in charm. Its sculpted petals are a deep mauve violet, barely flamed with white. Its dress is identical to that of the beautiful Negrita Triumph Tulip, but in a “parrot” shape. Its flowers bloom in April-May. Its flexible stems, measuring 50 cm in height, prefer to be sheltered from the elements that can weaken them.
