Description
The Two Months of Yellow Tulips Collection is an invitation to brighten up your garden with their flowering period that spans two months, from late March to early June. These tulips with their sunny flowers offer a diversity of yellow forms and shades, creating a joyful spring tableau. These bulbous plants are not demanding and will thrive both in flower beds and in flower pots. And their flowers are perfect for creating cheerful bouquets.
The collection includes:
6 bulbs of early double Tulips, 'Yellow Baby'. This variety stands out with its round and generous flowers, in a bright yellow, appearing as early as March, on short stems of 20-25 cm.
10 bulbs of Triumph Tulips, 'Strong Gold'. With a height of 40 cm, these robust and upright tulips are adorned with large cup-shaped flowers, in an intense yellow, starting from April.
10 bulbs of Lily-flowered Tulips, 'Ballade Gold'. Elegant and slender, they reach a height of 50 cm. Their slender petals, in a golden yellow, delicately open from late April. Graceful, radiant, and proud, this tulip is the most sophisticated of the selection.
Bulbs packed and labelled separately.
Plant the tulip bulbs in autumn, from September to November, for flowering the following spring. In flower beds, place the double tulips 'Yellow Baby' in the foreground, spacing them 10 cm apart for a dense and colourful effect. Then place the Triumph tulips 'Strong Gold' in the centre of the composition, spacing the bulbs 12 cm apart. Plant the 'Ballade Gold' tulips in the background, with a spacing of 15 cm to allow their long stems to fully bloom. Each square meter of flower bed can accommodate 20 to 25 bulbs for a dense and spectacular visual effect. In pots, choose a deep container and plant the bulbs in a staggered arrangement for a natural effect.
To enhance this Two Months of Yellow Tulips Collection, plant some Blue Sylva Forget-Me-Nots, which will form a carpet of blue flowers around your tulips. Plant about ten of them in front of the tulips. Add some Woodstock Hyacinths for a touch of deep purple, mixed in the centre of the flower bed. To complete this palette, place a few 'Hawera' Narcissus bulbs Hawera in the background. Their small pale yellow flowers will soften the vibrant tones while remaining in the same chromatic harmony. Together, these plants create a lively and harmonious scene, perfect for welcoming spring.

Planting and care
Plant your tulips as soon as possible in a well-drained soil. Loosen the soil deeply. Plant at a depth of 15 cm (Bulbs should be covered with soil twice their height). Space the bulbs a few cm apart, making sure they do not touch each other. Choose a sunny location for better flowering. After flowering, cut the flower stalks and let the leaves dry completely before cutting them.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
In temperate climates, pruning of spring-flowering shrubs (forsythia, spireas, etc.) should be done just after flowering.
Pruning of summer-flowering shrubs (Indian Lilac, Perovskia, etc.) can be done in winter or spring.
In cold regions as well as with frost-sensitive plants, avoid pruning too early when severe frosts may still occur.
The harvesting period indicated on our website applies to countries and regions in USDA zone 8 (France, England, Ireland, the Netherlands).
In colder areas (Scandinavia, Poland, Austria...) fruit and vegetable harvests are likely to be delayed by 3-4 weeks.
In warmer areas (Italy, Spain, Greece, etc.), harvesting will probably take place earlier, depending on weather conditions.
The sowing periods indicated on our website apply to countries and regions within USDA Zone 8 (France, UK, Ireland, Netherlands).
In colder areas (Scandinavia, Poland, Austria...), delay any outdoor sowing by 3-4 weeks, or sow under glass.
In warmer climes (Italy, Spain, Greece, etc.), bring outdoor sowing forward by a few weeks.
The planting period indicated on our website applies to regions in USDA Zone 9a (East Coast and Midlands: Dublin, Wexford, Waterford, Kilkenny, Portlaoise). It will vary depending on where you live:
- On the west coast and in the north-west (Galway, Limerick, Sligo, Donegal, Westport), delay planting by 1 to 2 weeks in spring and bring it forward by 1 to 2 weeks in autumn compared to the dates given, preferably choosing periods without strong winds.
- In the inland hills and plateaus (Wicklow Mountains, Macgillycuddy’s Reeks, Connemara, Killarney), it is best to plant in spring (April–May) or autumn (September–October), avoiding periods of waterlogged soil in winter and strong winds, which pose the main risk to newly planted trees in these areas.
The flowering period indicated on our website applies to regions in USDA Zone 9a, such as the East Coast and Midlands, including Dublin, Wexford, Waterford, Kilkenny and Portlaoise.
This will vary depending on where you live:
- On the west coast and in the northwest (Galway, Limerick, Sligo, Donegal and Westport), it will be delayed by one to two weeks compared to the given dates, due to stronger Atlantic winds and less spring sunshine.
- In the inland hills and plateaus (the Wicklow Mountains, the Macgillycuddy's Reeks, Connemara and Killarney), flowering will be delayed by two to three weeks. Flowering mainly occurs between May and July, with the limiting factors being less frost and more of the excessive humidity, strong winds and lack of sunshine that are characteristic of these areas.
