The 'Cuisse de Nymphe' rose, all in delicacy

The old rose ‘Cuisse de Nymphe’ dates back to before 1400 and is derived from alba roses, known for their hardiness and fragrance. Its flowers are a pale pink, close to flesh colour, and open in a flattened cup shape with numerous petals, all in delicacy. The flowers measure 6 cm and exude a powerful, musky, and powdery scent. The Cuisse de Nymphe rose blooms for a short period from June to July, but intensely. Its thorny stems bend under the weight of the flowers. Grouped in bouquets of 5 to 7 roses, they are highlighted by a matte green-grey foliage with a villous underside. The bush grows up to 1.5 metres in height and adapts to all soils and climates. It produces elongated orange fruits.

The rose 'Fantin Latour', with sweet fragrances

The ‘Fantin Latour’ rose is part of the old centifolia roses, also known as cabbage roses, renowned for their fragrances used by perfumers. Its origin is unknown, but it is known that it was discovered before 1938 by the rosarian Graham Stuart Thomas. This bush reaches a height of 1.5 metres at ripeness and has a lovely habit with its grey-green leaves and flowers that abundantly bloom in June and July. It bears clusters of 4 to 6 flowers, each 9 cm in diameter, in a powdery pink colour that lightens over time. The flowers are rich in petals, arranged in velvety quarters, which adds to its charm. Additionally, it has a sweet and soft fragrance, just as we love.

The rose 'Comte de Chambord', for beautiful romantic cut flower arrangements.

Created in 1860 by Moreau-Robert, the ‘Comte de Chambord’ rose belongs to the category of Portland roses, often fragrant and repeat flowering. This bush, reaching 1.10 metres, is perfect for small gardens or terraces. From June to October, delightful, very double flowers rich in silky petals bloom flat and in quarters in a lovely bright pink hue. ‘Comte de Chambord’ rose

The old rose ‘Honorine de Brabant’ is also perfect for creating cut flower arrangements. It has thornless stems, is repeat flowering, and fragrant. Its round roses, grouped in bouquets of 3, measure 6 cm in diameter and open in a very double cup shape, featuring a charming pale pink colour variegated with white, lilac, and carmine. Their fragrance is reminiscent of raspberry and blackcurrant. The Honorine de Brabant rose forms a large bush of 1.5 metres, with light green leaves, which can be grown as a bush in a lawn or as a climber. It blooms generously in July, then a second time, less intensely, in September. It is part of the Bourbon roses and is believed to have been developed around 1840.

Rose ‘Honorine de Brabant’

Also derived from Bourbon roses, the rose ‘Souvenir de la Malmaison’ was created in 1843 by Béluze. It is a true marvel, with its double roses that have a delightful fragrance and a soft colour. It blooms abundantly from June to September. Its flowers are 7 centimetres in diameter and open in a flat cup shape, forming charming petal quarters. At a height of 1 metre, it can be grown in a garden or in a pot. It is named after the former garden of Empress Joséphine at the Château de Malmaison.

Created by Grootendorst in 1923, the ‘Pink Grootendorst’ rose has the rugosa rose and the polyantha rose as its ancestors. It is easy to grow and very floriferous. From June to September, it is covered in small bright pink flowers made up of fringed petals that resemble carnations. The flowers are grouped in lovely little bouquets. The rose forms a small bush about 1.20 metres tall, with brown, thorny stems adorned with crinkled foliage. It can be planted in a border or a hedge in a garden or grown in a pot.

‘Pink Grootendorst’ rose

With its large flowers resembling those of wild roses, its bright pink colour accented by a white centre, and its graceful habit, the old rose ‘Complicata’ is delightful. Moreover, it is also easy to grow. Reaching 1.80 metres in height, it adds a wild and natural touch to gardens. It is derived from the botanical rose gallica officinalis, known for its great vigour and resilience. The slightly thorny and rough stems are adorned with dark green foliage and produce single flowers measuring 11 cm and lightly scented during the month of June.

Rose ‘Complicata’

Cultivated in China for over a millennium and derived from the wild China rose, the ‘Old Blush’ rose is one of the oldest roses. This small bush reaches 1.20 metres and bears 6 cm flowers on medium green foliage. From May to October, it produces very light-coloured roses that deepen in hue as flowering progresses, which are airy and semi-double. It is particularly vigorous and adapts to all types of soil. In good growing conditions and under a mild climate, it can bloom all year round!

‘Old Blush’ rose

The rose 'Chapeau de Napoléon', a touch of originality

The old rose ‘Chapeau de Napoléon’ is a horticultural species, born from a spontaneous mutation of the Centfeuille rose, prized by perfumers. It was discovered in Switzerland in 1827 by a certain Kirsch. It gets its name from the very original tricorn shape of its buds, which are covered with a frizzy green calyx. This is a bush that reaches 1.20 metres in height with a flexible habit, producing 8 cm roses in May or June, composed of tightly packed quarters of numerous petals. Its pink is fresh, and its fragrance is powerful and sweet. The stems bear grey-green foliage and reddish thorns. It can be grown in a garden or in a pot.
