Planting and care

These bushes grow quickly in any rich but light soil and without excessive water. They prefer a warm and sheltered exposure, protected from the wind. Due to their poor hardiness (-8° (17.6 °F) to -10° (14°F)), it is preferable to cultivate them in pots kept frost-free during winter outside coastal areas. Pruning in early spring maintains their compact and floriferous appearance. Their foliage persists through winter.
