The ultra-compact Spear & Jackson shovel 85540 is a sturdy and very manoeuvrable tool, ideal for transporting and handling all kinds of materials such as soil or compost, sand or gravel. Everything about this tool has been designed for easier handling: its small size, 69 cm, its weight, 1.160 kg, its steel blade with edges that serve as steps for support, and its non-slip handle. This well-made, small spade is equipped with a blade resistant to shocks and rust and a solid steel handle.
The shovel is an essential tool for transporting materials and small earthworks. The shovel can also be used to aerate and loosen the surface soil or to dig and work soft and light soils.
It is used in particular to empty planting holes after using a pickaxe, fill pots and planting holes and distribute organic or mineral mulches (gravel), manure or compost on the surface before incorporating them. The ultra-compact shovel Spear & Jackson takes up little space, it is very easy to find a small space to store it in the tool shed or garage.
