This 9-tine Stone Fork by Spear & Jackson has been specially designed to handle piles of stones or rubble, as well as straw, plant waste, or manure. This garden tool has also been designed to provide great comfort during use, allowing the gardener to work standing up while minimising strain on the back. Finally, its forged and tempered steel head is a guarantee of durability.
The Spear & Jackson Stone Fork features a wide head with 9 closely spaced long tines that hold debris and large stones (3cm and larger), a foot support area, a socket ferrule, and a long curved ash wood handle. The head is made of forged steel, which means the metal has been heated to make it easier to work with, and then tempered, which means it has been heated to a very high temperature and then rapidly cooled to increase its elastic strength and surface hardness.
