Asters are perennial flowers, from the Asteraceae family from which they get their name, that have a large number of species and varieties with multiple colours: white, pink, blue, mauve or violet. They are all very resistant and highly floriferous. These plants, in spring, summer or autumn, thrive in sunny locations with well-draining and light soil. Hybrids, such as Aster dumosus, novae-angliae or novi-belgii, will benefit from being divided every 2-3 years to regenerate the stump and protect them from powdery mildew.
