Our range of Pedunculate Oaks. Iconic of Western European landscapes, Quercus robur, the Pedunculate Oak, is a native deciduous tree renowned for its longevity, known for its majestic stature and ecological role. This large oak comes in several cultivars, selected for their narrow habit in ‘Fastigiata’, their slender foliage in ‘Salicifolia’, or purple leaves in 'Atropurpurea'. The Quercus robur 'Concordia' is a variety with moderate growth and bright yellow summer foliage, more suited to medium to small gardens.

The Pedunculate Oak thrives in a wide range of soils in lowlands and foothills. It develops a broad, rounded crown, with dimensions varying by variety: between 4 and 8 meters in height for compact forms, but up to 30 meters for the type species. Its leaves partially persist in winter, being marcescent. The flowers appear in April-May, followed by elongated acorns borne on a long peduncle, which gives the species its name.

Plant your Pedunculate Oak in full sun, in any deep, fertile, fresh to moderately dry soil, even slightly calcareous. Regular watering in the first years and formative pruning in late winter are sufficient to support its development.
