Planted in the spring, the young plants have taken very well, in relatively dry soil, in the shade and at the base of a yew tree and various bushes. They have bloomed all summer, with very beautiful delicate flowers, and are still adorned today, in mid-November, with a few last flowers. I am eagerly awaiting next spring to see them grow fuller.

Description

The Nodose Geranium Clos du Coudray is a new selection with mauve flowers bordered by pale pink and streaked with dark violet.

Ideal for shaded areas of the garden, this perennial geranium reaches a height of 50 cm (20in). On long, straight and knotty stems (which earned it the nickname of knotty geranium) rise the mauve flowers bordered by pale pink and streaked with dark violet. The flower measures about 4cm (2in) in diameter.

This Geranium has abundant flowering in spring that lasts until early autumn. Its palmate leaves, very characteristic, are dark green, highly glossy and bossed, typical of plants adapted to low light in the undergrowth.

It generously self-seeds and colonizes shaded areas of the garden, and to top it off, seedlings from sowing stay true to their color. It will be cultivated on slopes as a single plant or in shade beds with heucheras, Hakonechloa, Ophiopogon, astilbes or lysimachias.
