Our range of hardy aquatic plants, frost-resistant pond plants down to -15 °C and more. In this category, you will find hardy water lilies, the spiralled rush Juncus effusus 'Spiralis', and the marsh iris (Iris pseudacorus). Many pond plants belong to our native flora and are very useful for maintaining water quality. This includes the common water plantain (Alisma plantago-aquatica), perfect for maintaining the banks, and the spiked water milfoil, an excellent plant for oxygenating and purifying slow to stagnant water bodies, even if they are polluted. Let's not forget Hippuris vulgaris, the water horse-tail, which is oxygenating and very beneficial for aquatic fauna, less invasive than many others. Its small "fir trees" emerging from the water are of great value to aquatic life in general. How can we not mention the common reed, Phragmites australis, a large semi-aquatic perennial grass that, along with bulrushes (Typha), forms reed beds, a true refuge for many animals. Discover a wide selection of hardy aquatic plants on these pages.
