To successfully cultivate aquatic perennial plants, it is essential to plant them at the correct planting depth. The pond or water feature is typically divided into 4 to 5 zones ranging from 0 to 80 cm of water depth. The first zone corresponds to the edge, which accommodates perennial plants for the shoreline, between 0 and 5 cm deep. The second zone is from 5 to 20 cm, the third is from 20 to 50 cm, and the fourth is from 50 to 80 cm. The last zone corresponds to a depth of 80 cm and more. This is what is known as deep water.
