No need to worry about the lack of leaves when the spike arrives, that's how a young plant is transplanted, it regrows very quickly (depending on the planting season), so be patient, ladies and gentlemen :)

Description

Originally from the Himalayas, this elegant hardy perennial is very popular in northern gardens.

Its branching flowers bear very graphic white flowers with purple backs and mauve stamens. Unlike Japanese anemone, river anemone does not spread by runners, it propagates by seed and self-seeds if the location suits it, namely a rich and moist or heavy soil in the sun or partial shade.

Planted in front of a dark background made up of 'Black Beauty' elderberry or 'Red Majestic' hazelnut, the design of Anemone rivularis flowers stands out even more. In a white garden or on the damp banks of a pond, it pairs nicely with astilbe, trollius or aruncus.
