In my very hot summer, cold winter but not very humid area (altitude 550m (1804ft)), I planted it at the base of a wall, it took a little while to start but then it's 'magnificent', my sister has had it in Yvelines for years, including harsh winters. I also have the white one but it blooms earlier in summer and for a shorter time???

Negative aspects: Does not withstand water shortage very well, and I think they did not survive the negative temperatures of the winter 2011/2012 despite the protection.
Overall opinion: Magnificent, but I think more suitable for container gardening if you are north of the Loire.
Hello. I am going to receive my plant bulbs, and I'm quite excited about it, but in the meantime, I wanted to know how deep to plant them in the garden. I have a doubt because for indoor amaryllis, it is said that it is imperative not to completely bury them, and for garden ones, to bury them deeply. Twice the height of the bulb? Three times? Thank you!
The bulb is really large and it even has a 'little baby' attached, a promise of multiplication... The bulb is perfectly healthy and the foliage is already emerging. Magnificent.
