Unlike the 'special carrot plates' (from another brand I believe), this plate seems sturdy and durable. I did a first series of sowings on it a few days ago. Everything seems optimal so far.

Solid saucer with high enough edges to be able to place a piece of coconut matting (offcuts from a roll of coconut mulch for shrubs and large flowerbeds) and moisten the cells by capillarity. Perfect.

The Barroux
Plastic durable enough to be easily handled with filled and moistened honeycomb plates.

Unlike the "special carrot plates" (from another brand I believe), this plate seems sturdy and long-lasting. I did a first series of sowings on it a few days ago. Everything seems optimal for now.

In the photo, there are 28 compartments. So, 24 or 28?

Sturdy, yes. But very inconvenient for retrieving the plans. You have to shake and overturn it. In short, not at all suitable in my opinion.

The Barroux
Very satisfied. I was a bit worried about the durability of the trays, but they are thicker than what I had seen in garden centers. I hope they will last more than 5 years as advertised. Ordered 54 and 77-hole trays. Perfect. Saves a lot of potting soil, as we only transplant healthy seedlings. Saves seeds, no need to do pocket sowing and then thinning out. Saves space. Very easy to remove the root ball. In short, I highly recommend it. My next purchase will be a 104 or maybe even a 150-hole tray.
