Poor spike or variety, germinates very poorly. Three rank spike, germination of about 5%. Knowing that I have done 5 or 6 other ranks of spinach, Viking variety, monstrous and winter giant, which germinate without any problem. Really, it's this spike that caused the issue. Be careful.

Just sown so to be followed but I find it abnormal that the planting instructions are not written on the packet. These seeds are used for a family garden and there is no computer on site. Same for the packets of seeds, promising flowers, very unfortunate...
The best spinach for the south of France, to be sown in October or early November.
The harvests will be huge next spring.
Too bad that the price of Vilmorin seeds is a bit steep.....But hey, never disappointed with this seed company.

I am very disappointed to receive spinach seeds with an expiration date before July 2018, which is only 1 year!!!

The soil in the vegetable garden is clay-loamy, poor. I use organic fertilizer and a compost mixture with a bit of horse manure fed on herb since July. Untreated pasture.
I plant young plants every year at the end of September, with very good results.
