Two perfume princess daphnes purchased in August. One month later, one of the young plants seems to be wilting, the leaves are turning yellow and falling off. Disappointed.

Title
The first plant received and planted on 22nd September 2022 measured barely 12 cm (5in) in height but, more importantly, had very small weak roots. It did not survive the early December 2022 frost in Belgium (10 days of frost between -3° (26.6°F), -4° (24.8°F) in the first few days and -10° (14°F), -12° (10.4°F) towards the end of the period). The plant froze on 90% of its parts. It was replaced on 06/06/2023 by a larger new young plant (approximately 20cm (8in) in height) with well-developed roots. These Daphnes, like most Daphnes, are planted in partial shade (4 hours of morning sunlight) and shade for Daphne Odora Aureomarginata, in a mixture of 1/3 worked garden soil, worked to a depth of 30cm (12in) - 1/3 river sand (Rhine sand), and 1/3 heath soil. An 8 cm (3in) layer of bark mulch will be placed around the Daphnes (without touching the trunk). Watering preferably with rainwater, and it will be necessary to keep the soil consistently moist throughout the year. This new Daphne has recovered very well and has grown approximately 8-10 cm (3-4in) in two months.

All the other vine-plants in this order were received without any problems. However, the pot of the daphne was crushed, with the young plant soil outside the pot. Fortunately, this daphne was in plastic. During planting, the roots broke, and the foliage lost some of its splendor. Therefore, I am giving it a treatment with root fortifier (solubiol) and I have watered it very generously during planting. I am also protecting it from direct sunlight, as it is currently in a field of plants under observation.
