Arbutus unedo is not a dioecious species, there is no female or male plant, however, having multiple strawberry trees can improve pollination. The ripeness age occurs quite late, sometimes taking more than 10 years.
Thank you, Marie, for this very helpful information. I was about to order this bush because I have some next to my house, but now that you mention it, I've noticed that there are two midribs next to each other. It's really valuable to have this kind of information.
Kind regards,
Danièle
Soleymieu" does not require translation as it is a proper noun.
Very beautiful and in great shape, will it withstand our harsh winters?
Hello,
Arbutus is dioecious, you forget to mention it. So no fruit if you don't have a minimum of 2 plants: 1 male and 1 female. How can we know if the plants we buy from you are male or female?
No information either on fruiting: at what age does fruiting begin?
This last question also applies to all the fruit trees you sell.
Thank you
Marie
