Description

The Belle Epoque composition brings together 3 different varieties of early, floriferous and well-branched verbenas in a single pot. Their flowers form a colourful and decorative mix from June to October. The plants do not hollow out in the centre but maintain a bushy and neat appearance throughout the season. Like all annual verbenas, they are drought and heat tolerant. Already composed and ready to plant, this trio quickly makes an impact and remains decorative for a long time without requiring much maintenance. They can be planted in a container or large hanging basket to decorate the terrace or balcony.

The Belle Epoque composition consists of:

- 1 x Verbena Blues White 15: a medium vigour verbena (27 cm (11in) tall, 38 cm (15in) wide), with a semi-upright and very branched shape. Its pure white flowers are gathered in large bunches just above its foliage. Excellent resistance to powdery mildew.

- 1 x Verbena Lascar Dark Violet 15: this medium-sized verbena (33 cm (13in) tall, 38 cm (15in) wide) blooms early in the season, with clusters of dark purple flowers with white centres. It is bushy and semi-trailing.

- 1 x Verbena Lascar Dark Red 21: with the same characteristics as Verbena Lascar Dark Violet 15, with intense red flowers with white centres.

Garden Verbenas belong to the verbenaceae family, they are horticultural hybrids whose ancestors lived in the warm regions of South America. This perennial plant is tender, so is grown as an annual in our climates. Truly easy to grow, it suffers more from an excess of water and food than from a temporary lack of them.

Grown in the same pot, these three verbenas quickly fill their container and eventually, gracefully overflow. They should be repotted in a larger container or hanging basket, preferably wide to showcase them on the balcony or terrace. They are drought-tolerant plants that also tolerate heat and full sun well.
