Disappointed
I was expecting prettier young plants.

Unfortunately, they didn't flower as they should have because of the slugs!...We need to use a product, but be careful when you have pets!...We need to choose which one...Next year, we'll be more careful. Since lupins are perennials, I hope they will bloom next summer....I will keep you updated....

Weakened
The journey seems to have greatly weakened it, quickly put back in the soil and in the light of the sun to save it.

Half dead
like aphids on them.
Response from Promise of Flowers: Lupins are plants that attract aphids, and the development of insects is even more significant when the winter has been mild. Contact us at 03 61760810 to advise you on a biological or chemical control method and to give us updates on the plant.

Disappointed
The only stem (with a flower bud) that the young plant had was broken upon arrival.
I have serious doubts about a flowering this year, and even about the young plant's ability to recover.

I can't find it in the garden despite a marker!
I'm disappointed because it's one of my favourite plants.

I have never had success with the lupins that I have tried in several places in the garden. I thought that in the North it is more difficult to have this plant that I love for its shape, colour and peppery fragrance... This year, having made some changes and improvements to the garden, created other flower beds, I decided to put these lupins on this side, not too much sun, not too much shade, protected from the wind. These lupins have bloomed for a few weeks. I just saw this morning while taking some photos in the garden, new shoots of these lupins. I will let them grow, but as soon as the weather gets colder, I will protect them with a layer of straw...
I must mention that regardless of the plant, in the planting hole, I cut some nettles that I cover with a bit of compost to avoid burning the roots, and then I plant. For the first two weeks, I water moderately, and then if it doesn't rain, I give a bit of water once a week... One particularity, however, is that the flowers have a square shape instead of the usual pointed shape, which I still found beautiful... I recommend these lupins, but everyone should find their own place for them, which may vary depending on the nature of the soil, the location and the region...
Best wishes,
Ghislaine
