The flowers arrived almost dead, when at this time they should be nice and green. I'm not sure if they will recover. Usually, I'm satisfied with the promise of blooms, but not this time.

Planting and care

Although they prefer to grow in light and moist soil, they also tolerate dry and gravelly, limestone, as well as heavy and clayey, damp soil, provided it is not waterlogged in winter. Another characteristic specific to this poppy is that its foliage disappears shortly after flowering, but if care is taken to cut back the faded inflorescences early, new foliage will emerge in late summer, thus filling the gap left for the end of the season. It can be associated with Thermopsis, lupines, and carnations, along the edge of a flowerbed.
