Our range of Pilea, original and easy-to-grow houseplants. The Pilea, nicknamed 'Chinese money plant', is loved for its graphic foliage and ability to adapt to different environments. The undisputed star is the Pilea peperomioides famous for its round, flat leaves resembling coins. This compact plant reaches about 30 cm in height and will thrive in a decorative pot, whether on a shelf or a table.

The Pilea involucrata 'Moon Valley' charms with its textured leaves in shades of bright green and bronze. More compact, it measures about 20 cm in height. Another remarkable variety is the Pilea glauca 'Aquamarine', with its trailing habit and small rounded silver-green leaves. Perfect for hanging baskets, it adds an airy and luminous touch. Also worth mentioning is the more bushy Pilea cadierei nicknamed the 'Aluminium Plant' due to its leaves marked with silver stripes, which can reach 40 cm in height.

Belonging to the Urticaceae family (but without stinging!), Pileas are native to tropical and subtropical regions, particularly of Asia and America. This genus includes around 600 species, offering an astonishing diversity of shapes and colours.

Pileas thrive in well-draining substrates, ideally a mix of houseplant compost and perlite or sand. A bright spot without direct sunlight is recommended, and they should be protected from cold draughts. In winter, reduce watering to avoid excess moisture.
