I have carried out several waves of sowing, in seed trays and in open ground. Absolutely no seed has germinated, much to my surprise as I thought it was an easy vegetable to grow! I have never failed so badly before, so I am questioning the quality of the seeds or the variety that might be causing an issue?

I have been growing the BELSTAR broccoli for a long time and I am glad to see it featured on this website (unfortunately not available). It is a very mild variety (no bitterness like some other broccolis). The first heads are beautiful, and throughout the winter, I harvest well-formed side shoots with smaller heads. This winter, they have withstood -8°C (17.6°F) without any protection.
