Overall very satisfied with this pruner. It does indeed cut branches up to 2cm (1in) perfectly and effortlessly. I removed 1 star because there are times when the ratchet doesn't always engage on the first try.

This is my first anvil and ratchet pruner. It is comfortable to hold and has a good grip, and it's true that the ratchet allows for easy cutting of larger branches. However, it takes some getting used to, it's not easy at first. I've only used it once to trim my hedge (just the parts that were too overgrown and could bother passersby, as I don't know when the recycling centre will reopen...). Often, I would make two squeezes and then have to start over because the mechanism gets stuck, but like anything, you have to "figure it out" and then it works like a charm. The ability to switch back to normal mode is convenient, you can use just one pruner at a time.

Well-crafted tool with a sturdy appearance. My experience with similar tools over several decades makes me regret a relative deficiency in the locking mechanism of the arm extensions, but also acknowledge that hard materials (dry branches) are a very severe test. The flexibility and rigidity of the steel arms are a guarantee to prevent excesses, which is not the case with other aluminum arms that deform almost irreversibly! The opening of the clamps could have a few millimeters more to be ideal. Finally, I would appreciate being able to proactively purchase one or more spare anvils, as they are almost always the main weakness of this type of tool when used intensively. This should be offered in a kit from the first purchase.
