Calathea concinna Freddie

Calathea 'Freddie', commonly known as the peacock plant or prayer plant, is an ornamental and bright variety. Its lanceolate foliage features dark green striations in broad stripes radiating from the central vein on a light green background. This cultivar is relatively low-maintenance, thriving in average humidity. Its broad, elongated leaves display streaked patterns in two shades of green. It forms a bushy plant reaching 60 cm in all directions at maturity. Like other calatheas, its leaves fold up at night, a phenomenon known as nastic movement. It prefers indirect, filtered light, as direct sunlight may scorch its delicate leaves. It's best kept away from south-facing windows and thrives in a humid atmosphere, close to the conditions these plants experience in the wild.
