The young plants arrived in good condition, unfortunately despite regular watering they got scorched. They turned brown and brittle, I'll have to replace them. I'm disappointed because they were lovely.

Description

Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Minima Glauca' is a dwarf, rounded conifer 1m (3.3ft) tall and very compact with very fine, bluish-green foliage, highly appreciated in rock gardens and small gardens.

Also known as Lawson's Cypress, this false cypress is very similar to Cupressus but differs by its evergreen, flattened foliage in the form of scales. With a round and compact habit, it has a reddish-brown bark and leaves in the shape of an "X", bluish-green, sometimes tinged with grey. It can develop male or female flowers, differentiated by their colour: reddish for males and purplish for females.

Hardy down to -20°C (-4°F), the Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Minima Glauca' has few requirements regarding soil but dislikes waterlogged soil in winter. Make sure to properly drain your soil. It prefers deep, rich, siliceous soils, even poor or chalky. It appreciates cool and humid climates and does not tolerate dry atmospheres and prevailing winds. Plant it in a semi-shaded area or in gentle sunlight.

The Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Minima Glauca' is ideal for container cultivation on a terrace or in small gardens due to its slow growth and small size. With its soft and natural shape, it will work wonders in your rock gardens.

Tips: Water during periods of high heat as it is sensitive to drought.
