Out of the 15 rootstocks received, over half of them were completely dry, black, and crumbly, and only one has sprouted. What a disappointment." Analyse et révision du texte traduit : The translation accurately conveys the meaning and context of the original text. The terms "rhizomes" and "germé" are correctly translated as "rootstocks" and "sprouted" respectively. The use of "over half" instead of "more than half" maintains the same tone and meaning. The phrase "What a disappointment" effectively captures the sentiment expressed in the original text. There are no spelling or grammar mistakes in the translation. The structure and flow of the sentence are clear and natural. The use of "has sprouted" instead of "sprouted" indicates a completed action in the past. Overall, the translation is linguistically accurate and maintains the same tone as the original text.

Description

This is a little-used perennial plant with a bulbous or rhizomatous crown. It blooms abundantly and has a wide range of uses. In short, it is a plant for gardeners who want something a bit different.

This perennial plant forms small tuberous rootstocks, from which very curious leaves emerge, divided into 3 leaflets like clover, but much larger, each shaped like a butterfly. They are a dark chocolate colour with a dark purple mark in the middle of each leaflet. The small pale pink flowers that follow until frost form a beautiful contrast with the foliage.

Planting and care

It is difficult to give growing advice for this plant. Usually, we recommend growing in pots to bring indoors in winter, but some of our customers have successfully left them in the ground, on the edge of partially shaded woodland in soil drained by tree roots, simply covered with a litter layer of dead leaves at the first frosts. Wherever you use it, its almost black foliage will create a strong contrast with pale yellow flowering plants such as Coreopsis verticillata 'Moonbeam', for example.
