Description

This woodland spreading ground cover is an excellent choice for leafy areas where it thrives in cool, humus-rich, well-drained soil. It tolerates dry shade very well and can grow at the base of trees and conifers. It typically reaches a height of 30cm (12in) and spreads to a width of 30cm (12in).

Our selection, ‘Diane Clare’, is characterised by its silver foliage with green veins in spring, turning green with silver spots. It provides a beautiful backdrop for deep blue flowers that bloom from March.

It forms beautiful combinations with Muscari latifolium, Allium ursinum, and tulip 'Queen of the Night'.

Planting and care

Plant the 'Diane Clare' lungwort in a rich and moist soil, add leaf compost if necessary at planting and place the plant in partial shade preferably. Water regularly during the first season, as it helps the plant establish, which then becomes easy to grow.
