Stunning colour - plant that didn't fully develop - drought and sun that scorched the plants despite regular watering.

Description

The Petunia Tiny Pleasure Double Amethyst Vein is a very compact variety, recommended for pot cultivation and hanging baskets, with double flowers in flared trumpets, tinted with veined amethyst mauve.

Very floriferous, the Petunia Tiny Pleasure is a selection intended for pot cultivation, its growth is much more compact than traditional varieties and its stems are shorter, which allows for a dense and well-supplied flowering that is renewed from June to October. The Double Amethyst Vein petunia measures 20 to 30cm (8 to 12in) in height and width. The flowers measure 5 to 6 cm (2in) in diameter.

Resistant to drought and heat, the Double Amethyst Vein Petunia appreciates sunny situations and experiences rapid and vigorous growth.

Green plants measuring 4 to 8cm (2 to 3in) in cases of 5 small plug plants with a diameter of 2.5cm (1in) and a height of 4cm (2in). Our plants are at least eight weeks old and are strong enough to be planted in the ground.

Note: Attention, our young plug plants are professional products reserved for experienced gardeners: upon receipt, transplant and store them under cover (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame) at a temperature above 14C° for a few weeks before being planted outdoors once the risk of frost is definitively removed.

Planting and care

You can plant your Tiny Pleasure Double Amethyst Vein Petunias in the ground or in a pot. If you want to plant them in the ground, wait until the last heavy frosts have passed (petunias tolerate a light late frost). In the meantime, you can pre-cultivate them in a pot in a warm and bright place to accelerate their growth. The Petunias will bloom from June to October. Plant your Tiny Pleasure Double Amethyst Vein petunias in a sunny or partially shaded location sheltered from the wind. They need a light and humus-bearing soil, but above all well-draining. Do not water them too much at the beginning of their growth as they are sensitive to excess moisture. They tolerate drought well, but will need regular watering during hot summer weather. Petunias are sensitive to frost (minimum -1° (30.2°F)). Very floriferous and fast-growing, they are hungry plants. We recommend feeding them with a liquid fertilizer for surfinias once or twice a week during the growing season. Remove faded flowers and dry leaves as they appear to keep them looking nice and to prolong flowering.
