I order these seedlings every year and they turn into beautiful flowers. This year, two trays were in very bad condition upon arrival. Three out of ten seedlings are probably not going to survive, too damaged. The packaging was less carefully handled than in previous years.

Description

The Impatiens Sunpatiens is a blush pink is a compact annual plant that has the ability to tolerate full sun or partial shade. It is a very floriferous Impatiens with single flowers in light pink colour. Its deciduous leaves, finely dentate and pointed oval in shape, are glossy green.

The compact Impatiens blooms from June until the first frost in October. The Impatiens Sunpatiens is disease-resistant, more so than the classic Impatiens. This plant grows in a compact form, eliminating the need for pruning. It has rapid growth and reaches a mature height of 20 to 25cm (8 to 10in). It works well in flower beds, pots, or borders and containers, adding charm and elegance. It can also be grown indoors as a perennial. In this case, it should be pruned in spring.

The Impatiens Sunpatiens has the unique ability to purify the air and lower the surrounding temperature. It received three gold medals in 2006 at Euroflora in Italy for being the best selection, best Impatiens, and best bedding plant.

Note: Please be aware that our plug plants are professional products intended for experienced gardeners. Upon receipt, transplant and store them in a sheltered location (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame, etc.) at a temperature above 14°C (57.2°F) for a few weeks before planting them outdoors once the risk of frost has passed.

Planting and care

The compact blush pink Sunpatiens Impatiens is easy to grow. It should be placed in full sun or partial shade. Plant it in the ground in spring from March to May, after the last frost, as Impatiens cannot tolerate frost, for flowering from June until the first frost in October. To accelerate its growth, pre-cultivate it in a pot in a warm and bright location. Place the Impatiens in a fresh, well-drained soil that is rich in humus. Water it thoroughly, but be careful not to overwater. Pruning is not necessary. Very floriferous and fast-growing, it is a hungry plant. Feed it with a liquid fertilizer for hanging baskets once or twice a week during the growing season. Remove faded flowers and dry leaves as they appear to maintain a beautiful appearance and prolong flowering. Be careful, protect it from slugs that enjoy their young leaves, but otherwise Sunpatiens Impatiens is resistant to diseases.
