Description

Verbena Star Dreams Lavender bears beautiful blooms with a lavender hue. Its semi-trailing habit gives it a beautiful effect in pots or hanging baskets. It needs a bright exposure to flower well. It withstands drought and heat quite well.

Verbenas are appreciated for their intense colours and abundant flowering that lasts all summer.

These are green plants measuring 4 to 8cm (2 to 3in) in cases of 5 small plugs measuring 2.8cm (1in) in diameter and 4cm (2in) in height. Our plants are at least eight weeks old and strong enough to be planted in the ground.

Our young plug plants are professional products reserved for experienced gardeners. Upon receipt, transplant and store them in shelters (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame) at a temperature above 14°C (57.2°F) for a few weeks before being planted outdoors once the risk of frost has passed.

Planting and care

You can plant your verbenas in the ground or in a pot. If you wish to plant them in the ground, wait until the last heavy frosts have passed (verbenas can tolerate a brief late frost). In the meantime, you can pre-cultivate them in a warm and bright place in a pot to accelerate their growth. Plant your verbenas in a sunny location. They need well-draining soil. They tolerate drought well. Water regularly but without excess.

They are fast-growing and produce an abundance of blooms, making them hungry plants. We recommend feeding them with a liquid fertiliser once or twice a week during the growing season.

You can remove faded flowers and dry leaves as they appear to keep the plant looking neat and encourage new blooms.
