Description

Chasmanthium latifolium is a deciduous grass, forming a loose and upright clump with broad light green leaves. The floral stems, numerous and slender, gracefully arch and bear small green-brown spikes, sometimes slightly purplish, flat and ovate, which hang delicately. Hardy and easy to grow, Chasmanthium latifolium grows in full sun or partial shade, in any cool and light soil. It has multiple uses in borders with e.g. Heuchera, Rudbeckia, Cosmos. It is particularly appreciated for its unique flower spikes, which are remarkable in fresh or dried bouquets.
