Description
Similar to a giant mushroom, this bulb will delight your children. Plant it upon receipt in an 18 cm (7in) pot in a mixture of soil/compost, with the top of the bulb just buried, and place your pot in a bright location. Water sparingly and be patient. A huge red umbel will bloom in August, followed by a beautiful shiny green foliage. Do not overwater at this point, as your bulb would perish. This lovely plant then goes into a dormant period to bloom again the following year and gradually grows. In regions where frost is nonexistent, you can grow it directly in the ground, covering it with 10 cm (4in) of soil. Bulbs sold individually and in sets of 3.
Height 30cm (12in), flower diameter 18 cm (7in), flowering in late August. Size 20+. A funny mushroom!

The flowering period indicated on our website applies to countries and regions located in USDA zone 8 (France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, etc.)
It will vary according to where you live:
- In zones 9 to 10 (Italy, Spain, Greece, etc.), flowering will occur about 2 to 4 weeks earlier.
- In zones 6 to 7 (Germany, Poland, Slovenia, and lower mountainous regions), flowering will be delayed by 2 to 3 weeks.
- In zone 5 (Central Europe, Scandinavia), blooming will be delayed by 3 to 5 weeks.
In temperate climates, pruning of spring-flowering shrubs (forsythia, spireas, etc.) should be done just after flowering.
Pruning of summer-flowering shrubs (Indian Lilac, Perovskia, etc.) can be done in winter or spring.
In cold regions as well as with frost-sensitive plants, avoid pruning too early when severe frosts may still occur.
