Campanula persicifolia Hidcote Amethyst

Campanula persicifolia 'Hicote Amethyst', commonly known as Peach-leaved Bellflower, is a perennial plant forming pretty rosettes of semi-evergreen dark green leaves, bearing single flowers with an indefinable colour combining mauve and violet-pink, directly attached to the stem in early summer. Campanula persicifolia 'Hicote Amethyst' belongs to the Campanulaceae family. It comes from Campanula persicifolia, native to southern and eastern Europe and temperate Asia. It is a popular perennial plant, forming stiff and robust stems measuring 60 to 80 centimetres (24 to 32 inches) high and 30 centimetres (12 inches) wide. The large bell-shaped flowers are beautiful, simple, and lilac-pink, blooming in June-July. Its semi-evergreen foliage is dark green with lanceolate, elongated leaves resembling peach leaves, hence its name. This plant spreads through underground rhizomes, without becoming invasive.
