Description
Dahlia 'Frizzle Sizzle’ is a summer bulb in the category of decorative dahlias. This recent variety has fringed petal tips. This generous dahlia bears an abundance of flowers from July to the first frost.
Its large flowers measure 13cm (5in) in diameter. They are of an intense bright pink colour. Its lovely flowers can be cut to form beautiful bouquets.
This is a tall dahlia that can reach 1m (3ft) in height. This non-hardy plant originates from Mexico. It had fallen a little out of favour, but is now making a comeback to our gardens and homes.

Planting and care
Plant after the last frost, from May to June. Dahlia 'Frizzle Sizzle' enjoys sunny spots in your garden. Place it in ordinary, sandy, fertile, well-drained soil that is rich in humus. Plant the bulbs at a depth of 10cm (4in), spaced 40cm (16in) apart. After planting, water regularly at the base, preferably in the evening, avoiding wetting the foliage. Watering is essential during hot periods. Provide a nitrogen-rich fertiliser until the end of June, then switch to a potassium-rich fertiliser from July to October. These fertilisations should be done once a week and will be beneficial for prolonging the flowering period. Regularly remove faded flowers. After flowering, store the bulbs in a dry and well-ventilated place, preferably in sand and protected from rodents. A cellar is an ideal location. Before storing them, leave some leaves in place so that the bulb can replenish its nutrient reserves, and wait for these leaves to turn yellow. You can replant them in spring.
