After a winter, a branch has dried up but the rest of the young plant is healthy and the flowers are starting to bloom, I think this viburnum will be beautiful.

Description

Viburnum plicatum Popcorn is a shrub with a distinctive tiered habit. Nicknamed the Japanese snowball, this shrub blooms with pure-white flowering pompons throughout its branches from April to May. The balls measure 8 cm in diameter.

The foliage of the Japanese snowball bush Popcorn is deciduous and dense. Glaucous green turns orange-red in autumn. The Popcorn variety is very hardy, and its flowers attract butterflies, bees and birds.

At maturity, Popcorn can reach 1.5 to 2.5 m in height. It can be grown on its own, in beds or containers.

Planting and care

The Viburnum plicatum Popcorn can thrive in both full sun and partial shade. Plant it between November and May in frost-free soil, fresh, humus-bearing, and not too dry. Avoid soil with too much limestone. This bush is low maintenance and easy to care for. Although aphids may attack it, they pose no significant danger. After flowering, prune the bush sparingly to maintain its broad and low habit. Remove branches that look out of place or ruin the plant's symmetry.
