Satisfactory condition, it's a shame that the flower stem was cut... when there was plenty of room in the box.

Description

Columbines are perennial plants which are highly valued in gardens and require light, humus-bearing soil that retains moisture, where they colonize the area with their spontaneous seedlings. They can tolerate heavy soils, but do not live for very long in them. Some mountain species are difficult to cultivate.

Rosette of leaves at ground level. Short, blackish stems. Small flowers drooping downwards, with short, curved spurs, vermilion red, with a yellow corolla. Suitable for rockeries in light, moist but well-drained and lightly shaded soil.
