Description

Anigozanthos flavidus, commonly known as Kangaroo Paw, forms a dense clump, 50 to 60 cm (20 to 24in) tall, of evergreen, narrow and upright leaves, similar to iris. They are dark green and shiny. Its tall stems reach over 1.5m (5ft) in height. Curious clusters of woolly flowers appear at the top of the stems. They are chartreuse yellow tinged with red, in the shape of bent tubes, and measure 3 to 5cm (1 to 2in) in length. Five bright orange stamens protrude from the flowers. It prefers rich and well-drained soil.
