Plants arrived completely dried out, they seem dead. I still planted them this autumn and I'm waiting for spring to see what happens...

Description

The Parthenocissus tricuspidata 'Fenway Park' is a climbing Virginia creeper, very hardy, easy to grow, appreciated above all for its large golden foliage, very bright in the dark corners of the garden.

The Parthenocissus tricuspidata 'Fenway Park' has wavy, deciduous leaves, 20cm (8in) long, with 3 golden yellow lobes when the buds burst. Over the seasons, the foliage gradually changes to become a shiny maroon colour in autumn. Its insignificant inflorescences give way to blue-black berries.

This Virginia creeper, hardy down to -20°C (-4°F), grows in rich, moist, rather clayey soil in sunny or semi-shaded positions. Pruning at any time of the year keeps the plant within its space.

With its height of 15m (49ft), the Parthenocissus tricuspidata 'Fenway Park' is used to cover walls and facades. If the wall is sound, there will be no degradation due to the Virginia creeper. It protects the dwelling it grows on from extreme heat and harsh winters.

Planting and care

The Parthenocissus tricuspidata 'Fenway Park' should be planted in the autumn or spring in a moist and well-drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded location.
