Mint, from the Mentha species, comes in a multitude of varieties. It can be grown in vegetable or herb gardens, or simply in pots on a balcony for the fragrance of its leaves. Its lanceolate foliage releases such a fresh, powerful aroma that a simple touch is enough to reveal it. Transfer your plug plants from April to June. Regular harvesting will stimulates the growth of new leaves. Mint likes rich, moist soil. Easy to grow, it can be propagated by dividing clumps in spring or by growing cuttings.
