Chives are edible, aromatic plants grown in the vegetable garden or in pots for their hollow and long leaves with a garlic-like and pungent taste. Harvesting the foliage at the base of the clump promotes its renewal. They are transplanted in spring or autumn. From March to May, Chives bloom in beautiful mauve pompoms that are very decorative. Propagation is done by dividing the clump or by sowing seeds. Like the Spring onion, it thrives in moderately fertile soils in the sun and partial shade.
