The English Roses display a very natural bush habit that works wonders in rose beds, low hedges, and mixed borders, combined with other plants. Bushy, upright or elegantly arching, they come in a wide range of sizes, reaching up to the almost climbing large bush 'Leander', capable of reaching 1.75m (6ft). These vigorous varieties are well-suited for the back of flower beds and can even be trained on a fence. Most English shrub roses tolerate partial shade very well, requiring only four or five hours of sunlight per day, which makes it easy to find a place for them in any garden. Enhance their beauty by planting them in groups of at least three of the same variety. Cultivated this way, they will form a lush bush covered in fragrant roses from summer to late in the season. They will be magnificent in a bed, as a standalone plant, or even in a large free-standing hedge.

You'll love them!
