Description

Knautia longifolia develops a vigorous stump that spreads with weakly running rootstocks. It forms a beautiful clump of single, unbranched stems bearing very long and narrow lanceolate leaves. This dark green and shiny foliage brings lightness to the plant. The small bluish-purple head-like flowers bloom in large numbers for a long period.

Planting and care

Very close to scabious, they are much more tolerant to moist soil than the latter, even though they love the sun and do not fear temporary drought. They tolerate both moist and dry soil, as well as sun and light shade. Very beautiful when paired with Lobelia x gerardii, Rudbeckia fulgida, or Heliopsis scabra.
