Description

Heuchera 'Pewter Moon' is a plant with a dark complexion, with silver-coloured leaves, traversed by a dense network of dark purple veins. Its flowering, ranging from pink to pale pink, on tall flower stalks will stand out against its dark foliage. Heuchera 'Pewter Moon' is ideal as ground cover or in the undergrowth to bring a touch of colour to gardens.

Highly used in so-called "grandmother gardens", Heuchera are making a comeback in foliage gardens for their astonishing colour palette.

Heuchera 'Pewter Moon' is a perennial native to North America, reaching 40 cm (16 in) in height and 30 cm (12 in) in width. Its evergreen and dark foliage is composed of leaves with 3 or 7 rounded lobes, coloured silver with a dense network of dark purple veins, a true lacework of colour. On the underside, the leaves are dotted with hairs and have a bright purple-red colour. During the months of June to July, tall purple flower stalks will emerge from the foliage and reveal small bell-shaped flowers in pink and white that will stand out against the foliage.

Easy to grow and with good hardiness (-20 °C (-4 °F)), it will be indispensable for colouring your garden all year round. It tolerates all exposures; however, a sunny exposure should be accompanied by a cool to moist soil. Otherwise, it will thrive in a cool to moist, humus-bearing, and ordinary soil. It tolerates limestone soils well.

It is often used in floral arrangements, in flower beds, in the undergrowth, or even on slopes or rockeries with cool soil. It goes well with plants such as hellebores, ferns, or Solomon's seals.
