Description
This Daylily Apricot Beauty produces magnificent double flowers, apricot in colour, speckled with flaming red.
These large trumpet-shaped flowers emerge and renew themselves from July to August, lasting only one day, hence their name 'daylilies'. They measure 12 cm (5in) in diameter and can reach a height of 60 to 70 cm (24 to 28in) at maturity.
The foliage of Hemerocallis is gramineous and semi-evergreen, with a bright green colour. Originating from Asia, the daylily is very hardy.
The Daylily is a solitary plant, but it can also be grown as a border plant and in a mass planting. It fits well in all styles of gardens and can grow in full sun or partial shade, in any type of rich soil, as long as it doesn't lack moisture during its flowering period.

Planting and care
Hemerocallis enjoy sunny but cool positions. Avoid conditions that are too dry or too shady, as they will reduce flowering. Plant them in fertile, damp, and well-drained soil. Easy to grow, Hemerocallis can sometimes be prone to rust and collar rot in case of high rainfall, combined with temperatures over 30°C (86°F). Regularly remove faded flowers to prolong flowering. At the end of flowering, old leaves can become damaged, so cut them 20cm (8in) from the ground to promote the growth of new ones.
