Planting and care

Plant your tulips as soon as possible in well-drained soil. Loosen the soil deeply. Plant at a depth of 15 cm (the bulbs should be covered with twice their height of soil). Space the bulbs a few centimetres apart, making sure they do not touch. Choose a sunny position for the best flowering. After flowering, cut off the flower stems and allow the leaves to die back completely before cutting them down. After flowering, their foliage becomes unsightly and faded; we recommend planting Heucheras, Tiarellas, Brunneras, Bleeding Heart, and Euphorbia cyparissias at the front of your borders. Their foliage will enhance the colours of your tulips and, as the season progresses, will elegantly mask their yellowing leaves.
