Deutzia purpurascens Kalmiiflora

The Deutzia purpurascens 'Kalmiiflora' is a deciduous bush that is easy to grow, notable for its white and pink spring flowering, resembling that of Kalmias. It has a spreading habit and arched branches.

The 'Kalmiiflora' Deutzia has a spreading and rounded habit, reaching a height and spread of 1.50 m (4 ft 11 in) when fully grown. It is a spring-flowering bush, blooming in May and June with star-shaped flowers clustered at the ends of the curved branches. The white flowers are delicately tinted with a dark pink band beneath the petals resembling miniature milky ways at the ends of the curved branches. The dark green lanceolate leaves are toothed along the margins and measure approximately 6 cm (2.4 in).
