Water" the young plant that has finally survived. It had a lot of trouble getting established, so no flowers. I will see next spring if it blooms.

Description

Notable for its abundant flowering, the magnificum perennial Geranium also stands out for its great ease of cultivation; heavy, poor soils or even shaded areas do not scare it.

This great classic of gardens, still poorly diffused, is remarkable in late spring beds. From June to July, it produces a large number of very intense blue-purple flowers, striated with purple. Of good size, the flowers measure 3cm (1in) in diameter.

The round, dark green and cut foliage takes on pretty orange colors in autumn. It forms a remarkable hemispherical clump, spreading slowly with the help of its short underground stolons, without ever becoming invasive.

A carefree perennial plant, it will thrive in any good garden soil in shade or in the sun.

Planting and care

To plant your magnificum geranium, work the soil to a depth of 20 cubic cm, crumble the soil well and place a bottom amendment such as dried blood or dehydrated horn in the planting hole. Position your plant, removed from its pot, by covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil, refill the hole and water thoroughly to eliminate air pockets. In dry weather, it is necessary to water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate rooting.
