Silene maritima Druett's Variegated

The Silene uniflora 'Druett's Variegated' is a perennial appreciated for its spreading growth, its delicately variegated evergreen foliage, and its white flowering. Its mat-forming rootstock has the ability to spread on the ground over an area of at least 30 cm in diameter. The flowering is particularly abundant, from June to late August. During this period, the plant is adorned with a profusion of beautiful flowers, 1.5 to 2.5 cm in diameter, composed of 5 notched pure white petals, above a swollen green-brown calyx, arranged in a sparse cyme, sometimes solitary. Its dense and evergreen foliage in winter is carried by thin and brittle stems. The lanceolate and leathery leaves are of a superb green-blue color, widely bordered with cream white.
